A local business owner is using his online venture to help those less fortunate.
Anthem resident Brandon Lietz, owner of www.phatboutique.com, pledges to donate clothing to charity for every item sold on his Web site.
“Buy an item and I will give an item to local children,” Lietz explained. “You buy five items, I give five items. It is as simple as that.”
A 10-year resident of the area, Lietz just started the online business after experience running his own
meat company and security firm. He also works as a contractor for a large communications chain.Although he is obviously in business to make money, Lietz said he can afford to give away items and plans to do so for a long time.
“I want families to write to me or call me and explain their situation,” Lietz said. “I obviously will look into it and make sure it is legitimate but I want to help people out.”
The business owner will also accept monetary donations that he will use to purchase clothing to be distributed to the needy.
“In today’s world, a lot of people cannot afford it,” Lietz said. “It’s tough to go to school without the cool stuff. I feel like this is a good way to help a lot of kids.”
Lietz said he has done charity work before and comes away with a rewarding feeling.
“It’s nice to help when you can,” he explained.
Lietz’s site offers discount prices on fashions by Ed Hardy, Affliction, Abercrombie and Fitch, Polo and others. Among the items for sale are shirts, hats, jeans, swimwear, handbags and sunglasses.
All of the products on the site are genuine but cost 50 percent less than in-store prices.
“It is the real deal,” he explained. “The exact same thing you will pay more than $100 for at the retail stores.”
With free home delivery, Lietz said there is no more convenient way to shop than online.
